Prepare comparable inputs

Remove names, addresses, account numbers, and payment details. Keep the prices, term, included work, exclusions, cancellation rules, and any limits. Tell the model which criteria matter to you and require it to mark missing information rather than guess.

Comparison prompt
Compare offers A and B without choosing for me.
Use one table with upfront cost, monthly cost, total over 12 months, term, inclusions, exclusions, cancellation, and missing data.
Flag every assumption and show the arithmetic.
End with five specific questions for the suppliers.
Offer A: [cleaned terms]
Offer B: [cleaned terms]

Worked example: a lower fee can cost more

Suppose two synthetic site-maintenance offers cover the same listed scope. A costs €110 per month plus €300 setup. B costs €120 per month with setup included. At twelve months, A is €110 × 12 + €300 = €1,620; B is €120 × 12 = €1,440. B is €180 cheaper before VAT and extras.

At 30 months both total €3,600. At 36 months A is €4,260 and B is €4,320, making A €60 cheaper. This assumes unchanged monthly fees and no new setup charge. It does not settle service quality, renewal, cancellation, or extra work.

Show the calculation
12 months: A = 110 × 12 + 300 = €1,620; B = 120 × 12 = €1,440.
30 months: A = 110 × 30 + 300 = €3,600; B = 120 × 30 = €3,600.
36 months: A = 110 × 36 + 300 = €4,260; B = 120 × 36 = €4,320.

Try the comparison in your browser

Change the monthly fees, upfront costs and duration. The calculator runs locally in your browser and does not send the amounts to DottorLone or an AI service. Match the VAT basis and add exclusions from the written offers yourself.

Compare monthly and upfront costs over the same period. Enter non-negative amounts with at most two decimals, using a dot or comma. The calculation stays in your browser; these amounts are not sent to a server.

Offer A
Offer B

Over 12 months, B costs €180.00 less than A.

Total A
€1,620.00
Total B
€1,440.00

A: €110.00 × 12 + €300.00. B: €120.00 × 12 + €0.00.

Use the same VAT basis for both offers. Price increases, temporary discounts, exit fees, usage and extras are excluded: obtain them from the written offers and add them to the comparison. This result compares entered costs, not service quality.

Make non-price criteria visible

If support, quality, and delivery matter, choose weights before scoring the offers. For example: cost 40%, quality 25%, timing 20%, support 15%. Assign a score only where the quote supports it; do not turn a missing term into an average score. Changing weights can change the winner, which tells you the result depends on your priorities.

Record where each condition came from

A comparison table without source locations is hard to update when a supplier sends a revised quote. Ask for written confirmation of a condition mentioned only on a call. Keep contractual terms, sales promises, and your assumptions separate.

Sources and limits

European consumer guidance identifies total price, contract duration, main characteristics, and other terms as information to check. The applicable contract and rules still govern your decision; seek specialist advice when the stakes require it.
